Latest Update to -Cox Communications Denied Safe Harbor Protection in Case with BMG

UPDATE: Jury awarded BMG $25 million for Cox's piracy of BMG's musical works. Cox's failure to implement a repeat infringer policy removed them from the Safe Harbor provisions of the DMCA. The verdict amounts to damages of approximately $18,000 for each song that was infringed. This landmark ruling is an indication that ISP's will be held to higher standards in their abilities to limit and control copyright infringement by its users.
